NEW TIMBEROFFICE VERSION 2.1 LAUNCHED! |
A new version of Timberjack’s TimberOffice™ software package was launched at the end of November 2003. Development of the new version was driven primarily by feedback from customers. The goal of the new version development was to provide a more efficient software tool for machine contractors. Although the focus was mainly on improving existing features, the new version of TimberOffice™ also includes some attractive new features.
The marketing segment of TimberOffice™ is enlarged in the new version. Version 2.1 provides support for the French language as well as support for a coordinate system that is commonly used in France. A coordinate system for the Baltic countries is also supported and some new zones for existing coordinate systems are implemented.
New functionalities provided in TimberOffice™ 2.1 focus mainly on the TimberNavi program. TimberOffice™ 2.1 includes a new Logistics version of TimberNavi™ in which the range of application also includes forwarders and it facilitates management of harvester production information. A built-in e-mail system in the new TimberNavi™ makes it possible to automatically send information about production to the forwarder from the harvester. And it is possible in the forwarder to visualize harvester production on the map, including tree species or assortment specific, if it is needed. The forwarder operator can report on the progress of his work to the office. For example, the operator could send information about the wood transported and locations of storage sites by e-mail. TimberNavi™ 2.1 enables more efficient work planning and information sharing, even when circumstances are extremely difficult.
With the launch of the new version of TimberOffice™, the available programs versions will change. New versions of the following programs are now available:
TimberCenter™ Professional
TimberCalc™ Professional
TimberNavi™ Professional
TimberNavi™ Logistics
TimberMonitor™ Professional

A new user-friendly version of Timberjack’s TimberOffice™ |
Timberjack has further developed its well-proven TimberOffice™ software package. TimberOffice™ 2.0 is the most advanced software solution on the market for the management of the information flow from the timber harvesting chain.
TimberOffice™ 2.0 strengthens the competitiveness of logging contractors and improves the performance of their business by offering the most reliable and extensive decision-making tool available on the market. As in the earlier version, TimberOffice™ 2.0 consists of combinations of up to five programs: TimberCenter™, TimberNavi™, TimberCalc™, TimberMonitor™ and SilviA™. Improvements have been made in nearly all programs. A common feature is the increased user-friendliness of the programs. TimberCenter™, TimberNavi™ and TimberCalc™ are all available in both Standard and Professional versions.
The TimberCenter™ e-mail and database management program is now able to support 14 different types of files needed in the forest operations, such as logging, GIS and diagnostic files. Additional features of the TimberCenter™ Professional version compared with the Standard program are an improved search wizard and a new print wizard.
TimberNavi™ is a Geographic Information System (GIS) designed specifically for forest machines. New features have been added to TimberNavi™ Standard and Professional versions: more information can be added to the project file and more information is shown in the status bar to facilitate easier use of the GPS-function. The new TimberNavi™ Professional program supports several maps simultaneously and a zooming function has been added. “Self-generated” digital maps can also be calibrated into the program from scanned paper maps.
TimberCalc™ – both Standard and Professional - consists of three programs: Machine cost, Follow up, and Estimation. With the Professional version of the program the user can trace and manage costs and revenues with such functions as invoicing, VAT calculation, and a variety of financial reports. It also enables the creation and monitoring of budgets and productivity calculations.
The TimberMonitor™ Standard analyzing program has been made more user-friendly by separating the files by driver. The 2.0 version features a new sensibility checking function that enables comparison between the harvester head or base machine and the typical factory settings.
Timbermatic™ 300 PC-simulator -program has all the same features than a harvester’s control- and measurement system has. With the help of a simulator the user can easily study the system or practice the use of it at home. It will then be easier to use the program while working in the forest. Information of up to 50 trees can be handled by the simulator. The program is available as a separate part of the TimberOffice™.
